Feature Business Process Analysis:
Using Detail Process Maps and the Questioning Method
This paper explores a proven structured method for
understanding and analyzing business processes. While
reengineering, ISO Certification, Business Process Improvement, Six
Sigma, and Sarbanes-Oxley all specify an organizational focus on
business processes, none provides a specific method for
understanding the processes. This leaves many people attempting to
figure it out as they go. Without a solid methodology to support
process understanding and improvement, many efforts fail, drag on,
or (at best) require more effort than was initially anticipated.
Detail process charts provide a level of understanding that is
essential for effective analysis. Combined with the
Questioning Method, they have helped world-class organizations
achieve excellent process improvement results for over half a
century.

On the Road to Mastery
Business Process
Improvement Workshops
This week's class will be conducted by me and my father. Between us, our
experience in process improvement extends over 75 years. We keep the class size
small and offer plenty of opportunity for one on one and socializing...including
a wine and cheese gathering one evening.
The workshop will be held in the
Dayton Engineers Club library that once served such noted inventors
as Charles Kettering, Colonel Edward Deeds, Orville Wright and
others. The workshop includes lunch each day in the Club’s own fine
dining room plus morning and afternoon refreshments.
Attendees will be provided hands-on
training to acquire the skills necessary to prepare and work with
Graham Process Maps – the most powerful tool available for providing
real process transparency. And, they will learn how to lead a team
through analysis and improvement of a business process. They will
leave the workshop with a binder full of materials and articles, a
copy of my book, “Detail Process Charting: Speaking the Language of
Process” and enthusiasm to put their newly acquired skills to work!
Registration is $1195.00/attendee
with a 10% discount for 2 or more.
